When I was young I was a fan of Neil and CSN. However, my only real knowledge of Neil was the spectacular hits package, "Decade," "Harvest," and "Live Rust" I never had this amazing album. I know many of the tracks here, but to hear it as a whole is truly an experience. Hearing Southern Man sandwiched between Only Love Can Break Your Heart and Till the Morning Comes is brilliant. Neil can switch gears at the drop of hat. Soft and tender one minute and filled with hate and venom the next. Neil was told by a recording engineer very early on that he didn't have the voice to be a star and should leave the vocals to others. Fortunately, Neil doesn't listen to others opinions very much. He doesn't have the prettiest voice, not a great singer or musician. What he is, is an artist. In the truest sense of the word. He is an artist. He writes and uses anything and everything around him to convey what he has written to the listener. This is probably the best album by one of the best artist in music.
