So we had this idea to take pictures outside in our yard and use some white accent lights as a background. So in order to get everything to look right with these little lights we needed to wait until dusk. This works out well this time of year anyway since it cools off at dusk. We are still in the process of fixing up the garden...We are adding a path with some rustic fencing around it and arbors at each end. We are going to be working on adding to it a little every year so we should have new events all the time going on out there. We did add a shed this year which is quite photogenic. I think the red cedar color makes a really great backgound. Since we don't have our fence in place just yet we ran some wire to a couple temporary poles so that we would have something to hang the accent lights from. We criss crossed the lights over the wire and powed it up. Jen and I spent a few hours messing around with different positions of the wire and different placement of the subject area to get the lights to have just the right look. We put out a newsletter and posted to Facebook a request for models to come in for a free session to help us work out the details of the set up and get some posing and lighting that really worked for the event. We are going to keep working on this as we go through our models over the next few weeks.
